How to wash your wool-cover
Wash you wool cover: handwash (Washing water and rinsing water must have the same temperature, otherwise the cover will shrink!). Then put the cover in a towel and press out the water or spin.
How to waterproof your wool-cover
1. For one wool-cover put half a teaspoon of woolwax (adeps lanae or cera lanae - also available in the pharmacy) and some drops of washing up liquid or baby shampoo in a cup of hot water. Stir until the woolwax it totally dissolved and the liquid is milky without any globules of grease.
2. Add about 2 Liters of warm water and stir again.
3. Put in your wool cover, when the liquid is about 30° warm, do not kneat, let soak for about half an hour.
4. Take it out of the liquid and spin at 500.
5. Line dry – ready to use!
6. Also for fleecewraps, but soak shortly.
Wash your wool cover if:
- it is dirty
- it smells bad
- it’s wet
- every 3 weeks
To sterilize your woolwrap use Jean Pütz Bleach or boil the cover in a pot, heat up very slowly, do not stir, put out the cover, do not kneat and let it cool down slowly
